Save steps as a template in Remote Execution

You can save Remote Execution steps in a template, or collection, to run later.

Important: To use this feature, the user must be authenticated with zero trust authentication, which serves the security of the session. Authentication is required only once when you run a Remote Execution step.
  1. In the Console, go to the Devices > Remote Execution page.
  2. In the top-right corner, select Manage templates.
  3. Select Create new template.
  4. Choose whether to create a template from scratch or from an existing template.
  5. Add steps to your template.
  6. Select Next and name your template.
  7. Select Save template.
    The Templates page is displayed.
What to do next: On the Templates page, you can edit or delete a template at any time.

Run the tasks of a template

  1. In the Console, go to the Devices > Remote Execution page.
  2. In the top-right corner, select Manage templates.
  3. Select an existing template that you want to run.
  4. Select Run job from template.
  5. Optional: Add more steps as needed.
  6. Select Next.
  7. Choose the devices where you want to run the Remote Execution job and select Next.
  8. Name your job and select Run.

    Result: The result of the job is displayed on the Summary page. See View the results of a Remote Execution job.

Save a previously run job as a template

  1. In the Console, go to the Devices > Remote Execution page.
  2. Hover over a job that you want to save as a template.
    You can select any job, whether it is completed, scheduled, or currently running.
  3. Select the Save as template icon on the right.
  4. Name your template and Save it.

Results: To run a job from a template, select Manage templates at the top and then select the template that you want to run. See Run the tasks of a template
