Install the Hamachi client to a local computer
Follow this procedure to download and install the Hamachi client to a local computer. The client will be attached to your account.
On Windows or Mac
Results: The client is installed on the local computer as an attached member of the active account.
On CentOS (Linux)
Install Hamachi via the command line.
Results: The client is installed on the local computer.
- Execute sudo hamachi login to log in.
The login command establishes a link between your computer and the Hamachi server. After your first login, the Hamachi client running on your computer will remember your details and whenever your restart your computer, it will automatically log you in to the Hamachi server.
- Execute sudo hamachi attach [email@example.com] using your LogMeIn ID (email address) to attach the client running on your computer.
Attaching your Hamachi client to an existing LogMeIn Central account is optional and has the following advantages:
- You can manage your networks from the LogMeIn.com website.
- With the attach-net command, you can attach those networks that you have created on your client to a LogMeIn Central account. This way, ownership of those networks will be transferred from the client (that created the networks) to the LogMeIn Central account. This also means that you can manage these networks from the LogMeIn.com website.
On Ubuntu (Linux)
- Option 1: Install Hamachi via the command line.
- Download Hamachi using the terminal.
wget https://www.vpn.net/installers/logmein-hamachi_2.1.0.203-1_amd64.deb
Result: The installer package is downloaded to your current directory.
- Install the package.
sudo dpkg -i logmein-hamachi_2.1.0.203-1_amd64.deb
- Download Hamachi using the terminal.
- Option 2: Install the package using the Ubuntu Software app.
- Navigate to https://vpn.net/linux.
- Select the appropriate package to download it.
- Open the .deb package with Software Install.
Result: The Ubuntu Software window is displayed.
- Select Install.
- When prompted, enter the admin password for elevation.
Results: The client is installed on the local computer.
- Execute sudo hamachi login to log in.
