Migrate tickets from another helpdesk solution into LogMeIn Resolve

The easiest way to migrate your tickets into LogMeIn Resolve is by utilizing our API. However, if it is only a small number of tickets you want to migrate, you can email them to your selected helpdesk service set up in GoTo Admin.

While you can use the API or email methods to migrate your existing tickets into LogMeIn Resolve, it is currently not possible to preserve some of the original properties (such as the creation date) of the tickets.

Use the LogMeIn Resolve API for ticket migration

Before you begin: Set up authentication to use the LogMeIn Resolve API.
Using the LogMeIn Resolve API, you can create an uploader script that uploads the data of all your tickets to the Console.
Important: When using the script, the ticket creation date will be set to the date the tickets were uploaded. This cannot be customized.
  1. Create an uploader script based on the request samples provided in our API documentation for creating a new incident.
  2. Upload your tickets to LogMeIn Resolve.

Results: Your tickets appear in the Helpdesk menu of the Console with the Created date set as the date the upload was completed.

Email your tickets to LogMeIn Resolve

This approach is only recommended if you have a small number of tickets to migrate from your previous helpdesk solution into LogMeIn Resolve.
  1. Optional: Set up a new helpdesk service to keep your end-users' ticketing flow separate from the migration flow.
  2. Send an email to your helpdesk service's email address with the contents of your ticket. Repeat this step for each ticket you want to migrate.

Results: Your tickets appear in the Helpdesk menu of the Console with the Created date set as the date you emailed your tickets to the helpdesk service.
