This article describes the synchronization and deduplication process for software assets. The process is similar to the implementation in Hardware Asset Management (AM) and aims to keep your software inventory up-to-date and accurate.
Software assets are synced and updated based on their Winget ID. If two items have the same Winget ID, they are considered to be the same piece of software, preventing duplicates in the inventory.
- In the Console, navigate to the page.
Note: If you have multiple accounts, select your organization in the top-left corner next to the LogMeIn Resolve logo.
- Select the purple gear icon on the right, and select Sync settings.
Result: The Sync settings panel pops up on the right.
- Select an option from the list:
- Automatic sync: Automatically updates existing managed software assets and imports all newly discovered software without manual intervention.
- Manual sync: Automatically updates existing managed software assets and notifies end-users of newly discovered software, allowing manual selection for addition to the inventory. This is the default setting.
Note: You can select only one option at a time.
