Create your own custom report in LogMeIn Resolve

If the built-in reports and charts don’t provide all the insights you need, you can generate a customized AI-powered report simply by entering your request in natural language.

Creating custom reports is a feature in Open Beta available for customers with a Complete or MSP subscription. The AI can generate reports on the following LogMeIn Resolve areas:
  • Alerts
  • Devices
  • Helpdesk
  • Inventory
  • Remote Execution
  • Remote support sessions
  • Windows and third-party app updates
  • Antivirus
  • Tenant data
  1. In the Console, go to the Reporting page.
  2. In the top-right corner, select Create new report.
  3. Name your report and select Create report.
  4. Select a report type – or widget – to add to your report in one of the following ways:
    • In the chat window, using natural language, describe what chart you want to see and press Enter.
    • Select a pre-defined report from a card under the chat window to display a chart.
    Your custom widget is created.
  5. Use the chat window on the left to refine your chart.
    The chart will better meet your needs if you provide more details to the AI.
  6. Select Add to report at the top of the page to add the chart to your report and return to your custom report editor page.

Duplicate an existing report

You can duplicate custom and default reports to quickly create an editable copy. Duplicated reports are custom reports that you can refine to suit your reporting needs. You cannot duplicate helpdesk and session reports.
  1. On the Reporting page, find a report that you want to copy.
  2. Create a copy of the report:
    • In grid view, hover over a report and open the menu in the top right, then select Duplicate.
    • In list view, hover over a report and select Duplicate report in the Actions column.
    The new report is created with the title " Copy of <original report name>".

Refine custom widgets

You can refine report widgets to suit your reporting needs. This is especially useful after duplicating a report.
  1. On the Reporting page, find the custom report you want to change.
  2. Select Get reports under the report.
  3. Select the widget you want to change and select Refine at the top.
  4. Use the chat panel to let the AI update the widget for you.
  5. Select Save Changes at the top when you are done.
    You can also revert changes by selecting Discard widget. This does not remove the widget.

Switch between graph view and list view

Widgets in custom reports have two views:

  • The list view helps those people who like reading numbers as line items. This view includes the nitty-gritty details of a report area.
  • The graph view provides a nice colored bar or pie chart to dazzle the executives at an even higher level in your organization. This view provides a high-level overview of the report area. This view is only available for pre-defined reports that you can select from the cards under the chat window on the custom report page, as well as for those AI-generated report widgets that you display in bar or pie chart format.
Whichever your preference is, you can switch between these views by selecting the chart icon at the bottom of a widget. You can change the view of each report separately.

Filter reports by date

To view a report for a specific date range, select the start and end dates from the calendar at the top of the page.

The report is refreshed automatically. Alternatively, select a pre-defined timespan from the left.

Download or print a report

You can download any report in multiple formats by selecting More > Export in the top-right corner of a widget. By default, a report is downloaded in CSV format and regardless of your selected view, it contains your report as line items.

To download a report in a different format, select the down arrow in the bottom right of a widget and then select a report format:

  • Export CSV: Downloads the report in CSV format. This is the default setting.
  • Export XLSX: Downloads the report in Microsoft Excel format.
  • Export PNG: Downloads the report as an image file. This option is only available when your widget is in graph view.
You can also export your whole report as a single page PDF, which includes the current view of your report. Select Export PDF in the top-right corner and then choose a destination for your report:
  • Select Save as PDF to download your report to your device as a PDF file.
  • Select a local or network printer to print your report.
Tip: Before you download or print a report, make sure it is displayed properly on a page. Select More settings to make changes to the layout of your report.

Manage unused custom reports

You can edit the name and description of an existing report, or delete unused ones.
  1. Go to the Reporting page of LogMeIn Resolve.
  2. Select Get reports under the custom report that you want to manage.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To edit the name and description of a report, select the pencil icon next to the report's name and make your changes.
    • To delete the report, in the top right, select Delete report from the kebab menu.
  4. Confirm your selection.
