About prohibited applications

Prohibited applications are unauthorized software installations that may pose security risks to your organization.

By managing prohibited applications, you can do the following:

  • identify and track unauthorized software installations
  • reduce shadow IT within your organization
  • take quick action when prohibited software is detected

How notifications work

When an application is marked as prohibited, the system automatically monitors its presence across all devices. You receive notifications showing:

  • the number of devices with the prohibited application installed
  • options to notify users about unauthorized installations
