Typical errors with Mail for Exchange configuration profile on Samsung devices

LogMeIn Resolve MDM has a configuration profile that can be used to deploy the settings of Mail for Exchange accounts to the Samsung mail application on a Samsung device.

Requirements and limitations

The configuration profile is applicable to Samsung Knox devices running Android 4.2 or newer which are managed in Fully Managed Device mode of Android Enterprise.

Samsung Knox license (KLMS agent) must be validated successfully on the device by accepting the Samsung Knox Privacy Policy on the device when installing the LogMeIn Resolve MDM Client and enrolling the device in LogMeIn Resolve MDM. There is also a field on the Device page that shows the Knox status for the device.

Typical errors with the deployment

  • Account saving failed: This error often arises if the Samsung Email application is not installed on the device. Try to install the application and then redeploy the configuration profile.
  • Saving Exchange account: SAFE is not enabled on the device: This error means that either the Samsung Knox Privacy Policy has not been accepted on the device, or the device does not support this feature.
  • Running as Profile Owner, SAFE is not supported: The Mail for Exchange configuration profile is not supported for devices managed using the Work Profile mode of Android Enterprise.

Alternative workarounds

If it is an option to use other email clients, check How to configure Exchange for Outlook and How to configure Exchange for Gmail.
