Set time zone

The Time zone configuration profile allows you to prevent automatic time zone adjustment on your managed iOS devices.

Before you begin: The devices on which the configuration profile is deployed must be supervised and run iOS 14 or later.

The Force automatic date and time restriction option must not be enabled on the device. If this restriction is enabled, the Time zone configuration profile has no effect on the device functionality.

This configuration profile sets the time zone on your managed iOS devices to a single selected time zone and toggles off the Set Automatically option in the General > Date & Time menu in the Settings app.
  1. Navigate to Management > Configuration profiles and select Add.
  2. Select iOS, then select Next.
  3. Select Time zone (Supervised), then select Next.
  4. Select the desired time zone in the Time zone field, then select Next.
Tip: You can filter the list of time zones by entering the name of the time zone in the field.
  5. Enter a name and description for the configuration profile, and select Create to finish the configuration.
  6. Select Close to exit the wizard.
  7. Deploy the configuration profile to the managed iOS devices as described in Deploying a configuration profile.
Tip: Consider adding the configuration profile to a business policy to automate deployment.

Results: The devices' time zone is changed to the configured time zone and the Set Automatically option in the General > Date & Time menu in the Settings app is toggled off.

Set Automatically option toggled off in General > Date & Time in the Settings app in iOS

What to do next:

You can monitor the progress of the action either on the Management > Action log page or on the individual device's Device page available under Management > Devices.

This configuration profile is only intended to set the time zone remotely and it does not change the device behavior permanently. Because of this, the configuration profile cannot be removed from the device using LogMeIn Resolve MDM, but the changes applied by it can be reverted by toggling on the Set Automatically option on the device or by deploying a Restrictions configuration profile with the Force automatic date and time option enabled. For more information on the Restrictions configuration profile, see Restrictions for iOS.
