Set or change wallpaper on Android devices
With LogMeIn Resolve MDM's wallpaper configuration profile, you can deploy a custom background image to Fully managed Android devices. This allows you to customize both the home and lock screen wallpapers while ensuring that the selected wallpaper remains enforced.
- The device must be enrolled in LogMeIn Resolve MDM as a Fully managed device.
- Miradore client version 2.8.1 or later is installed on the device.
- The device is running Android version 7 or later.
Note: On Android version 6 and lower, only the home screen wallpaper can be set.
The supported file formats for wallpaper images are .jpg and .png, and the maximum file size is 1MB.
Create a Wallpaper configuration profile
- Navigate to and select Add.
- Select Android, then select Next.
- Select Wallpaper, then select Next.
- Upload an image file to LogMeIn Resolve MDM by selecting Browse.
- Select where the image is to be set as the background using the Location drop-down menu, then select Next.
- Enter a name and description for the configuration profile, and select Create to finish the configuration.
- Deploy the configuration profile to the managed Android devices as described in Deploying a configuration profile.
Change the wallpaper for an individual device
- Navigate to and open the device's page by double-clicking the device entry.
- Select .
- In the Set wallpaper wizard, select an existing image or choose a new one from your computer by selecting Browse or by dragging and dropping a file directly into the wizard.
- Select Close to exit the wizard.
Results: The device's home and lock screen wallpapers change to the selected image and a new Wallpaper configuration profile is created in LogMeIn Resolve MDM for future use. The configuration profile has the same name as the image file's name and has no description.
Prevent users from changing the wallpaper
Wallpaper deployment through business policy
A business policy allows you to deploy a single wallpaper setting across all devices on your LogMeIn Resolve MDM site or target devices with specific tags. Each business policy can include only one Wallpaper configuration profile, which means you cannot deploy separate configuration profiles to use different wallpapers for the home screen and lock screen.
Troubleshooting
To verify that the wallpaper change is successfully applied to the device, ensure the following:
- The device is connected to the internet.
- The device is synced with LogMeIn Resolve MDM. You can manually initiate synchronization by using the Sync now action in the Miradore client on the device or selecting on the device's page in your LogMeIn Resolve MDM site.
