Enrolling Windows 10 and 11 devices using the Full management type

Devices running Windows 10 and 11 can be enrolled to LogMeIn Resolve MDM using the Full management type. Using the Full management type, an MDM profile is created for the device. Full enrollment enables all management features and lets you assign a user to the device.

General information about the Full enrollment of Windows devices

When enrolling Windows devices using the Full management type, take the following information into consideration:
  • Devices running Windows 7 or 8 cannot be enrolled using the Full management type. For these devices, use the Light management type.
  • The LogMeIn Resolve MDM is automatically installed to devices running Windows 10 and 11 Pro edition.
  • Windows 10 and 11 Home edition devices can be enrolled using the Full management type, but the Miradore client must be manually installed to these devices using Light enrollment.

For detailed information on Windows management types, see our Windows device management article.

Limitations

The Miradore client only supports 64-bit versions of Windows. This means that while the MDM protocol is available for 32-bit versions and the work account is created on these devices upon enrollment, the Miradore client's management features are not available on 32-bit Windows versions.

Enroll the device in LogMeIn Resolve MDM

Before you begin: The Windows device user performing the enrollment needs to have administrator rights to the device.
  1. In LogMeIn Resolve MDM, navigate to Enrollment > Enroll device, then select Windows.
  2. Select Full management.
  3. Choose whether you wish to assign a user to the device during enrollment:
    • Select Add user and select the user for the device from the drop-down menu or create a new user entry in LogMeIn Resolve MDM by selecting Create new user. If you want to send the enrollment message to the user immediately, select the Send enrollment invitation to user checkbox.
Note: Sending an enrollment invitation is recommended if the device to be enrolled is not the same as the one that was used to initiate enrollment in LogMeIn Resolve MDM.
    • Select Unknown user if you want to assign a user to the device later.

  4. Select Begin enrollment.

Result: The Single device enrollment dialog box appears with instructions to enroll the device. If you selected Send enrollment invitation to user, an email is sent to the user's email address with instructions to enroll their device.

  5. Once the device user has finished enrollment, select Continue to finalize the enrollment.

If you are enrolling the same device that was used to initiate enrollment, follow the steps in Enroll the same device that was used to initiate enrollment.

  6. Select Close to exit the dialog or, if you wish to enroll another device, select Enroll another device.
What to do next: To make sure that enrollment was successful, you can monitor the progress in LogMeIn Resolve MDM by navigating to Enrollment > Enrollment log.

Complete enrollment on the device

Enroll the device using the enrollment invitation email

If an enrollment invitation message was sent to the device's end-user, they can follow the steps described in Enrollment instructions for Windows 10 and 11 device users.

Enroll the same device that was used to initiate enrollment

  1. In the Single device enrollment dialog box, select click here in the first step.
Alternatively, open the Settings app on the device, then navigate to Accounts > Access work or school and select Enroll only in device management.

Result: The Microsoft account window opens.

  2. Enter the enrollment username shown under Enrollment credentials in the Single device enrollment dialog box into the Email address field, then select Next.
  3. Enter the enrollment password shown under Enrollment credentials in the Single device enrollment dialog box into the Password field, then select Next.
Note: Leave the Domain\Username (optional) field empty.

Results: Enrollment starts and the Miradore client is automatically deployed to the device. After the enrollment is completed, the Miradore client runs in the background.
