Android Zero-touch enrollment with LogMeIn Resolve MDM

Android Zero-touch enrollment is a seamless setup and deployment method for company-owned Android devices. It can be used to enroll devices automatically to LogMeIn Resolve MDM. During device setup, LogMeIn Resolve MDM's management client (Miradore client) will be downloaded to the device, and it will connect to the correct LogMeIn Resolve MDM site.

Start by purchasing Zero-touch enrollment devices. Your reseller sets up your Zero-touch enrollment account when your organization first purchases devices registered for Zero-touch enrollment - like shown in the Zero-touch enrollment overview.

Prepare Zero-touch enrollment

Before you begin: Open Enrollment > Android Enterprise.
  1. Select the management type for devices to be enrolled via Android Zero-touch (either Fully managed or Fully managed with work profile).
  2. Download Android Zero-touch enrollment configuration file under Actions dropdown menu. The downloaded file is named online_zerotouch.json. The file contents are needed in the next steps of the setup.
Note: The selected management type is written inside the configuration file. In case you want to set up both management types available via Android Zero-touch enrollment, you can repeat the above steps but select the other management type and download the file again.

Configure Zero-touch enrollment in Android Zero-touch portal

  1. Open Android Zero-touch partner portal, navigate to Configurations and click Add configuration.

    • EMM DPC: select Miradore client
    • DPC extras: open your previously downloaded configuration file (online_zerotouch.json) in a text editor and copy-paste the text content to this field
  3. Save the configuration by clicking Add.

If you need additional configuration for another Android management type, create another one using the contents of the corresponding Zero-touch configuration file.

  4. Once the needed Zero-touch configurations are in place, you can assign a configuration to each of your devices by finding the device on the Devices page by device IMEI or serial number and clicking Edit.

You can also define a default configuration to be applied to new devices added to your account by a reseller.

Results:

Zero-touch enrollment for the device will take place next time the device enters the initial Android setup (powering up a new or factory reset device). If needed, you can disable Zero-touch enrollment for a device by changing the assigned configuration as None.
