The LogMeIn client app displays the "Another version is running..." error
If the previous instance of the Client was not shut down correctly, the Client may still be running in the background.
Symptom
When launching the Client, you see the following error:
Another version of Client is already running on this computer. Close the running instance and start this version?
Solution One: Stop the program in the taskbar
- In the taskbar, select the arrow icon.
- Right-click the Client icon.
- Select Exit.
Solution Two: End the process in Windows Task Manager
- Open Windows Task Manager by right-clicking on your taskbar and selecting Task Manager.
- On the Processes tab select Client.
- Select End Task.
