View currently logged in users on remote hosts

You can view all active and inactive users who are logged in locally to a remote computer.

Before you begin: For best experience, make sure the Logged in users column on the Computers page is enabled on your account. To do so, in LogMeIn Pro, select Settings > Security in the top-right corner.
Then select the Show the logged-in users' usernames on the Computers page option at the bottom of the page.
Important: You can only enable this feature once every 24 hours.

You can view logged-in host users at two different places:

  • The Computers page provides an overview of all your remote hosts and allows you to see who's working remotely on your hosts.
  • The Computer Properties page lists all users who are currently logged in to a single remote host. Users in this list can be either active or inactive at the remote computer.
Example: Why would you want to see active users on your remote hosts?

Let's say a user working on a remote host cannot print to a network printer. You don't want to disturb the user, but want to make sure that you fix the printer's issue during lunchtime. The last logged in users feature allows you to see when a local user is active or inactive on a remote host. When you see that the user turns inactive , you can go ahead and remote control that computer to solve your user's issue.

View logged-in users on all hosts

  1. In LogMeIn Pro, go to the Computers page.
  2. Select the Logged in users column to view the active users of your remote hosts.

    If you cannot see this column, enable it in the Settings > Security menu as described above.

    The following user statuses are available:

    • : A user is logged in locally at the remote host, but the computer is locked. Currently, no one is actively working on the host computer.
    • : There is at least one user currently logged in to the remote computer. When there are multiple remote users logged in to the host, select the Multiple Users link to view the users' names.
    • No local user login reported: The remote host has not yet sent information about the user who last logged in to the host. This generally happens either when your host runs an earlier version of the host software or the host is online but has an expired subscription.
    • No one is logged in: No one is currently logged in locally at the remote host.
    • Host is offline: The host is either offline or the host software on the remote computer is disabled.

View logged-in users on a single host

  1. In LogMeIn Pro, go to the Computers page.
  2. In Detail view, find your remote host in the Computers list.
  3. Select the icon in the Properties column to open the Computer Properties page.
    You can find logged-in users on the General Settings tab under Logged in users.

    The following user statuses are available:

    • : A user is logged in locally at the remote host, but the computer is locked. Currently, no one is actively working on the host computer.
    • The user is currently logged in and actively working on the remote computer.

View reports on remote connections

You can view a list of remote sessions that were initiated to a selected host. Remote sessions include remote control, file manager, and background access sessions.
Remember: The Remote sessions report lists users who connected remotely to a computer in the past. The Logged in users list contains those users who are currently logged in locally to a computer.
To view this report, do the following:
  1. On the Computers page in Detail view, find the host where you want to see remote sessions.
  2. Open the Remote Sessions report:
    • Hover over the Logged in users column next to your host and select the See remote connections link as described above.
    • Select the icon in the Properties column to open the Computer Properties page. On the General Settings tab, select the See remote connections link.
    Tip:
    • By default, the Remote Sessions report lists remote sessions of the past 30 days.
    • You can see the remote sessions that were initiated to all your remote hosts by selecting View Report at the top of the page.
  3. Optional: Select Filter at the top of the list to change your report period and then select Apply.
