Discontinuing LogMeIn Files

From August 5, 2024, LogMeIn Pro and LogMeIn Central users will no longer have access to our online file storage, LogMeIn Files.

What is changing?

LogMeIn Files provide 1TB of storage per LogMeIn Pro or LogMeIn Central subscription that you can use to retrieve and share files from anywhere. We are going to discontinue this service in August 2024, which means that you'll no longer have access to your archives in LogMeIn Files. You are recommended to download your files before you lose access to your online storage space. This change does not impact your remote host computers in any way.
Remember: LogMeIn Files and File Manager are different features. You will still have access to File Manger.

When does it change?

On June 7, 2024, we're starting to let users of LogMeIn Files know that their beloved service is going away. LogMeIn Files will be unavailable from August 5, 2024. Subsequently, you will no longer have access to your files in our online storage.

What should you do now?

If you haven't used LogMeIn Files, you have nothing to do. Otherwise, you should consider other alternatives for storing your content and then start downloading and moving your archives to a different storage option before August 5, 2024. This way, you can avoid unwanted data loss. You have two options to download your files.

Download from the desktop client app

The easiest way to download files is to use our desktop client app. Here's how:

  1. If you haven't already, download the LogMeIn Client app for Mac or for Windows.
  2. Open LogMeIn Client and sign in to your account.
  3. From the menu bar, select File > Attach LogMeIn Files drive.
This will attach a logical drive to your computer, which contains all your files and folders stored in LogMeIn Files.
    • In Windows, File Explorer opens and you can find the new drive there.
    • On a Mac, open Finder to see the newly attached drive.
  4. From the attached drive, copy or move all files and folders to your local device, or to an external drive.

Moving files is recommended as it also removes your files from the LogMeIn Files online storage.

  5. Optionally, delete your archives from LogMeIn Files.
Download from the LogMeIn.com website

You can also download files from the LogMeIn website, but you cannot download folders from there.

Tip: If you have an extensive folder structure in LogMeIn Files, you are recommended to use the desktop client app as you cannot download folders from the website.
  1. Sign in to your account at LogMeIn.com.
  2. Go to the Files menu.
  3. Select the files that you want to download. Hold the CTRL button to select multiple items.
  4. Right-click your selection and choose Download.
  5. Optionally, delete your files and folders by right-clicking your archives, and selecting Delete.

Please contact us if you have any questions regarding your files stored online.
