Working with reports in LogMeIn Central

LogMeIn Central Reports allow you to work with a range of data and charts pertaining to your account's activities.

Important: For many reports, including Alerts, Journal, and all inventory reports, data can be collected only from hosts in a former LogMeIn CentralPremier or current LogMeIn Central Base account. To experience full reporting functionality, make sure you are a former LogMeIn Central Premier subscriber or have a current LogMeIn Central Base plan.
Who can use this feature? The full set of LogMeIn Central reports and charts is available for the following:

Reporting options

LogMeIn Central offers you the following reporting tools:
  • Chart Dashboard: Provides a visual representation of basic report details. You can even create your own charts.
  • Report Viewer: Provides a comprehensive list of reports about your users and remote hosts.
  • Inventory: Lists all your devices and their basic details that you can export.
  • Executive: Provides a 30-day executive summary of a computer group with colored charts.

Getting around in Report Viewer

Regardless of which report you view, there are a few basic features that are available to you above your report.
Category selector
Select a category for your report. This is mandatory.
Report selector
Select a subcategory for your report. This is mandatory.
View a report
Select View Report to run and display the results of a report.

When you have a large number of rows to display in a report, then you can only export the results. In this case, you see an Export button in the top row. You can only filter the exported data in the downloaded report file.

Add a report to your Favorites list
Select the star icon in the top-right corner and then select Add this report to favorites to mark a report as your favorite. This allows you to create a link to your most commonly used reports.
Filter a report
Every report allows you to add filtering conditions to display a subset of the data.
Refresh a report
View an updated report.
Save a custom report
Save your own report. This is useful when you apply filters to your report and don't want to reset those filters every time you run a report.
Export a report
Export a report to Microsoft Excel or CSV format.
View a chart of the report
Displays the report in the Chart Dashboard.
Delete a saved report
You can only delete those reports that you have previously saved.
Show or hide a report column
Select the eye icon in the Display column to hide a report field or select the X icon to display a hidden field.

The Executive Report is a fixed-format report providing a 30-day overview of key data.

Reports on account activity and usage

These reports provide information on how, when, and what an account is used for.

Remember: Reports can be customized. Select Filter after you generate the default report to change date range, fields, sort order, and more.

Account Audit report

This report lists the activity that has occurred in your account in a given time period. The events reported include the addition or deletion of computers or users, invited users, and subscription changes. This report answers the questions "When were changes made to subscriptions and users in my account?"

Event type
The action that a user performed. For example, adding a computer or inviting another user.
Tip: To generate a report on deleted computers, filter for Computer deleted event type.
Email
Email address of the user who performed the action.
IP Address
You can filter the IP address of the user who performed the action.
Event Date
Date and time what the action was performed.

Antivirus Audit report

Lists key antivirus metrics, provides instant insight into how your antivirus performs, and analyzes the value of antivirus with key decision-makers.
Group
The computer group where the antivirus software started an action. See actions below.
Computer
The remote host where the antivirus software started an action.
Email
Email address of the user who performed the action.
Action
The antivirus-related action that was performed on the remote host.
  • Run full scan - The antivirus software started a full scan
  • Update definition - The antivirus software updated its database definition
  • Turn on RTP - Windows Realtime protection was turned on
  • Install LogMeIn AV - LogMeIn Antivirus was installed on the remote host
  • Assign policy - A user assigned an antivirus policy to the remote host
  • Suspend LogMeIn AV - LogMeIn Antivirus was suspended
  • Policy edit - A user edited the antivirus policy that was assigned to the remote host
  • Policy rename - A user changed the name of the antivirus policy that was assigned to the remote host
  • Policy create - A user created and assigned a new antivirus policy to the remote host
  • Policy delete - A user deleted the antivirus policy that was assigned to the remote host
  • Uninstall LogMeIn AV - A user removed LogMeIn Antivirus from the remote host
Action sent
Date and time when the antivirus action started.

Remote Access Sessions (In Last Month) report

Lists remote control sessions. Reported details include host name, user, start time, end time, duration.
Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
The host where the remote access session started.
Email
Email address of the user who performed the action.
Session Start
Date and time when the client started establishing a peer-to-peer connection to the remote computer.
Session End
Date and time when the peer-to-peer connection was established.
Duration
Duration of establishing the connection between the client and the host.
Journal Entry
Content of the journal entry that the user entered and saved during the remote session.

Remote Sessions (In Last Month) report

Lists remote sessions. Reported details include host name, user, start time, end time, duration.
Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
Name of the remote host.
Email
Email address of the user who performed the action.
Session Start
Date and time when the remote session started.
Session End
Date and time when the remote session ended.
Duration
Duration of the remote session.
Host IP Address
IP address of the remote host that a user accessed.

User Account Access (In last week)

Lists all occasions when your account was accessed. Reported details include user, user IP address, and time of account login.
Email
Email address of the user who performed the action.
User IP address
IP address of the user who accessed the remote host.
Login Start
Date and time when the user successfully logged in to the remote host.
Count
The number of attempts it took for the user to log in to the remote host.

Reports on computer alerts

Lists all alerts for the selected period. Reported details include alert type, event, time generated, status, and applicable Alert Package. Available to former LogMeIn Central Premier subscribers and current LogMeIn Central Base plan plus Insight module subscribers only.

Alerts (In Last Week)

Acknowledge
Displays whether a user acknowledged the alert or not.
Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.

Name of the remote host.
Alert Type
The type of alert that was raised. The following alert types are available:

Displays whether the reason for the alert still applies.
Date of RTN
Date and time when the reason for the alert no longer applied.
Date of Ack
Date and time when a user acknowledged the alert.
Acknowledged by
Name of the user who acknowledged the alert.
Alert Detail
Additional information on the alert.

When you have more than 1000 remote hosts, you can only export a report.

CPU

View the details of the CPUs installed in the remote hosts.

Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
Name of the remote host.
CPU Type
Type of CPU in the remote host.
Speed (Mhz)
Speed of the remote host's CPU.
Cores
Number of cores the CPU has.
Processors
Number of processors the remote host has.

Hardware History

View the hardware changes in your remote hosts.

Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.

Name of the remote host.

Category of the computer hardware in the host as defined by Microsoft. These include the following:

View the details of the motherboard in your remote hosts.

Chipset
Make and model of the motherboard's chipset.
Memory Slot
The individual memory modules installed in the host. You see "empty" when a memory slot is free.

Network Interfaces

View the details of the network interfaces of your remote hosts.

The computer group that includes the host computer.

Name of the remote host.
Name
Name of the network adapter in the host computer
MAC Address
MAC address of the network adapter in the host computer.
IP Address
IP address of the network adapter in the host computer.
Subnet Mask
Subnet mask of the network adapter in the host computer.
Default Gateway
Default gateway address of the network adapter in the host computer.
Primary DNS
Primary DNS address of the network adapter in the host computer.
Secondary DNS
Secondary DNS address of the network adapter in the host computer.
DHCP Server
DHCP Server address of the network adapter in the host computer.
Primary WINS
Primary Windows Internet name service address of the network adapter in the host computer.
Secondary WINS
Secondary Windows Internet name service address of the network adapter in the host computer.

Service Tag

View the service tags of your remote hosts.

The computer group that includes the host computer.

Name of the remote host.
Service Tag
Windows Service Tag of the remote host.

Storage Hardware

View the details of storage hardware in your remote hosts.

Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
Name of the remote host.
Drive
Name of the hardware drive in the remote host.
Type
Type of the drive if specified.
Serial Number
Serial number of the drive.
Capacity (GB)
Capacity of the drive in Gigabytes.
Media Type
Media type of the storage hardware, such as "Fixed hard disk media" or "DVD-ROM".

Top Disk Usage

See the disk partitions of your remote hosts with the highest utilization rate.

Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
Name of the remote host.
Drive
System name of the disk.
Partition Name
Name of the partition on the disk.
Total Size (GB)
Size of the partition on the disk.
Free Space (GB)
Free space on the partition of the disk.
Percentage (%)
Free disk space in percentage of the partition size.

Note: You cannot list installed host software by users.

Host Software Installs (In Last Year)

Lists host installations executed from your account.
Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
Name of the remote host.
Version
Version of the installed remote host software.
Install Date
Date and time when the remote host software was installed.
Product Type
Type of the remote host software.
Product
Manufacturer of the remote host software.

Installation Packages (Created In Last Month)

Lists host installation links sent from your account, including status details.

Subscription
Type of the subscription that the installation package assigns to remote hosts.
Description
Name of the installation package that deployed the host software on the remote computer.
Expired
Displays whether the installation package has expired.
Limit
The number of times a host installation package can be run. Can be defined when you create an installation package.
Used
The number of times the installation package was used.
All Used
Displays whether the installation package was used for the maximum allowed times.
Active
Displays whether the installation package is active.
Deleted
Displays whether the installation package has been deleted.
Created by
Name of the user who created the installation package.
Created
Date and time when the installation package was created.
Expires
Date when the installation package expires.

Journal Entries (In Last Month)

View the journal entries that your users created on your remote hosts.
Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
Name of the remote host.
Domain
The domain name of the user. For example, if the user name is mycorp/jsmith, then the domain is mycorp.
Entered by
Name of the user who added the journal entry.
Journal Text
Content of the journal entry.
Date
Date and time when the user created the journal entry.

Last Boot Date

See when your hosts were last rebooted.
Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
Name of the remote host.
Last Boot Date
Date and time when the remote host was last rebooted.

A list of computer access permissions as defined on the Users > Manage page in LogMeIn Central.
Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
Name of the remote host.
Email
Email address of the user.
First Name
First name of the user.
Last Name
Last name of the user.
Permissions
Granted permissions of the user as defined on the Users > Manage page.
User Group
The group that the user is a member of.

Local Users

A list of local users on the remote hosts.
Note: You cannot run reports on how long users were logged in to LogMeIn Central.

Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
Name of the remote host.
Local User Name
User's login name on the remote host.
Created
Date when the local user account was first discovered by the report.
Last Login
Date and time when the user last logged in to the remote host.
Status
Displays whether the user's account on the remote host is Enabled or Disabled.
User Group
Name of group that the user is a member of.
Discovered At
Date and time when a user property was last updated.

User Permissions

A list of user permissions as defined on the Users > Manage page in LogMeIn Central.
Email
Email address of the user.
First Name
First name of the user.
Last Name
Last name of the user.
Invited by
Name of the user who invited the selected user.
Status
Status of the user, which can be Disabled, Active, or Invited
ES
Displays whether the user has received an emailed security code.
PS
Displays whether the user has received a printed security code.
Permissions
Granted permissions of the user as defined on the Users > Manage page. For a list of abbreviations, see the bottom of the report page.
User Group
Name of group that the user is a member of.

User Profiles

A list of user profiles on the remote hosts.
Group
The computer group that includes the host computer.
Computer
Name of the remote host.
Profile
Name of the user's Windows profile on the host. This is used to sign in to the host.
Size
Size of the user profile's folder on the remote host. On Windows hosts, this is the size of the c:\users\<myuser> folder. On a Mac, this is the size of the /Users/<myuser> folder.
Modified At
Date and time when the user's profile was last updated.
Discovered At
Date and time when a user property was last updated.

Executive report

Remember: A former LogMeIn Central Premier subscription, or a current LogMeIn Central Base plus Insight module subscription is required to use this feature.

The Executive Report is designed for IT professionals who want to provide customers and stakeholders with additional insight into the value of the services they provide. It is a fixed-format report providing a 30-day overview of key data.

The single-page report contains:
  • Pie charts for Windows Update, Anti-Virus, OS Type, and Disk Space status
  • Graphs for Remote Control, Alerts, and Virus Threats
  1. Using a former LogMeIn Central Premier subscription or a current Base plan plus Insight module, select Reports > Executive.
  2. Select a computer group.
  3. Select the report format:
    • Choose Generate PDF file to download or open the report as a .pdf file
    • Choose Generate Word file to download or open the report as a .docx file

Data is reported on one page for the selected group for the previous 30 days, not including the day when the report is generated.

Report Section Description
Windows Updates The number of computers by Windows Updates status.
Anti-virus The number of computers by anti-virus status.
OS Type The number of computers by operating system type.
Free Disk Space The number of computers by percentage of free disk space.
Remote Control The number and total time of remote control sessions held per day.
Alerts The number of alerts reported per day compared to the number acknowledged.
Threats The number of anti-virus threats reported per day compared to the number of threats handled.
